Having been back in England for almost a year now I have made the decision to focus solely on my favourite medium of watercolours. This is for four reasons. Firstly, they are my best medium. I am relaxed and confident with watercolours and as a result I produce my best paintings with them. Secondly, I felt that for the past year I have been spreading myself too thinly by concentrating on my versatility and trying to compete at the top level in all mediums, thus not really creating any true artistic identity. By opting to paint with just watercolours I can work on developing a style which is both recognisable and striking. Thirdly, because watercolours don’t seem to be taught at art schools any more, there is a distinct shortage of watercolourists coming up through the ranks. Consequently a notable void of watercolours has arisen in most contemporary galleries. I have made it my aim to fill this niche with the hope that my pictures give the medium some good PR and exposure to the younger generations of both artists and art collectors alike.

With my new ‘identity’ emerging quickly I have been on the road a fair bit since May, painting vineyards in The Loire, distilleries in Scotland, dairy farms in Devon, Townscapes in London, Landscapes in Tuscany and many commissions in between. Evidence of these trips and an ever growing portfolio of watercolours can be seen on this updated site, and I hope to see you at some of the imaginative exhibitions already planned for 2007. Please consult the exhibitions page for dates, or leave your email on the contacts page and you will be notified of forthcoming events
